Job Description

Knobelsdorff Enterprises, a turnkey specialty contractor serving industrial electrical, automation, and renewable energy sectors since 1988, is hiring a Solar Installer for project work based in Springfield, IL. This role offers hands-on experience in solar photovoltaic installation within a team-oriented environment focused on technical growth and ownership of project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and installation of solar panels and associated equipment
  • Prepare job sites by clearing debris and organizing materials
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment during solar installation
  • Manage material inventory and coordinate job site logistics
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Travel to project sites frequently, including overnight stays (up to 100% travel)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays
  • Experience using hand and power tools (preferred)
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity to work in hot, cold, or wet conditions
  • Physical capability to dig and backfill trenches
