Job Description
Knobelsdorff Enterprises, a turnkey specialty contractor serving industrial electrical, automation, and renewable energy sectors since 1988, is hiring a Solar Installer for project work based in Springfield, IL. This role offers hands-on experience in solar photovoltaic installation within a team-oriented environment focused on technical growth and ownership of project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setup and installation of solar panels and associated equipment
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris and organizing materials
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment during solar installation
- Manage material inventory and coordinate job site logistics
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
- Travel to project sites frequently, including overnight stays (up to 100% travel)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays
- Experience using hand and power tools (preferred)
- Capability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for extended periods
- Capacity to work in hot, cold, or wet conditions
- Physical capability to dig and backfill trenches
