Job Description

Faith Technologies is hiring a Solar Electrician in Chicago, IL for commercial and industrial electrical installations and maintenance. This role involves 60–75% travel and a work schedule between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for customer demands including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You'll work within a team environment, sometimes independently, and contribute to jobsite safety and mentoring of apprentices and helpers.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings in compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Layout and install conduit systems, lighting systems, basic control systems, and feeders
  • Install motor feeders and make standard motor connections
  • Read and apply blueprints and electrical schematics on jobsite
  • Maintain current licensing and training requirements
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety audits, and safety-related functions
  • Maintain full compliance with OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer-specific safety requirements; identify, correct, and report unsafe acts or conditions immediately
  • Provide technical assistance to field employees and mentoring to Helpers and Apprentices
  • Clean and maintain jobsite, tools, and vehicles
  • Participate in Faith Technologies' hiring referral and mentoring program as appropriate
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent documented work experience (8,000 hours minimum)
  • Current electrical license maintained throughout employment
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to travel 60–75%
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as demanded by customers
